時間的延續性:音樂的存在每一刻都在凝結,每一刻都在更新。
The continuity of time: the existence of music every moment ceases and is every moment renewed.
凝時的概念主要由聲音的時間性出發, 樂器聲響經過電腦的即時效果,可以改變原本演奏音的時間長度甚至型態,如作品的第一個音演奏後,透過即時錄音與回放,聲響可以凝結延展至無限長,並且可層層堆疊擴張聲響的頻譜。而在第二段落呈現的短節奏與前段的延展性聲場產生強大的對比,既使同樣使用交疊的織度處理,卻顯現出完全不同的聲響狀態。最後一段回到大提琴優美的旋律特質,伴隨著第一段的延展音組成的和弦,結束昇華至最初的音高。
In this piece, in quest of time and continuity, live electronics use freeze effects to extend the playing notes into stretchable layers. In contrast with the first spectral texture part, the second part turns into a short rhythmical scene, building layers like the first part; however, the texture becomes totally different. The last part back to the cello's beautiful melodic quality, along with extended chords from the first part, ending in a sublimate atmosphere.
